The Beauty You Might Be Missing
When was the last time you paid attention to the little things?
When we’re small, we are amazed by the slightest details, things we’ve never seen before. Every new discovery blows our mind: the beauty of nature, the colors of butterflies and birds, the way sunlight filters through trees. We are enamored by the world around us.
But as we get older, we begin to get bogged down by everyday nuances. We don’t notice the birds, because we have to remember to pay that bill. We don’t look at that cool cloud because we need to paint our living room before the holidays. We don’t acknowledge how beautiful the sun is because we are still pained by the darkness of our past.
We trade awe for obligation.
Whatever the reason, due to busyness, work, or survival mode, we stop paying attention.
But God is in the details.
Where you stop paying attention, He has worked it out.
Where you didn’t notice how it connected, He was designing it to blow your mind.
When you thought you were overlooked for a job, He was setting you up for one even better.
While you were worried about how to budget for the upcoming month, He dropped extra money at your feet to remind you: He’s your provider..
When we take time to stop worrying and being drained by the intricacies of life, we can find joy in the little things that make life worth living.
So pause, take a deep breath, and remember that you are here, and He’s with you in the now.
