Learn to Love Prayer Again

There comes a time when the prayers that once filled your room go silent.

Doubt, unbelief, discouragement, grief, and even busyness make their way in. Where words once came effortlessly, they become difficult to find let alone say.

Have you ever needed to relight the fire of your prayer life?

Sometimes, the best thing to do is not force it.

Maybe you need time to work through your questions or unmet expectations. Maybe there are things you need to process before you know what you want to say. But when the desire to pray begins stirring in you again, you’ll know when it’s time to return.

Maybe God needed to give you a new perspective.

Prayer isn’t always kneeling beside your bed or praying loudly while pacing the hallway.

Prayer can also be found in the stillness.

Meditating on Scripture.
Silently voicing your disappointments to your Creator.
Worshipping in the car without music.
Journaling your conversations with God.

Sometimes we go silent because prayer is changing within us.

Instead of being an outward show, we begin to embody it.

And when it’s time to relight the fire, you’ll know.

You’ll feel it nudging you back.

And when He calls, answer.

Not in the robotic, mundane way you may have prayed before, but from the evolution of your relationship with Him.

Let prayer be.

And be in prayer.
