Letting God Surprise You This Summer

I hate that I hate surprises.

But the truth is I like to get in my zone. I like having my plans. I like knowing what’s coming next. So when something unexpected gets thrown into the mix, it can feel like someone just threw a wrench into my perfectly planned blueprint.

I love to plan. I love checklists. They keep me focused and help me stay on track. And if I forget something? High key, there’s a good chance I didn’t write it down.

I like planning my life, my future, my finances because when I don’t, that’s usually when things feel like they are going sideways.

But sometimes, the best parts of life are the spontaneous moments.

The random apple picking trip with my sister
The unexpected car ride with my mom.
The last-minute movie night with a friend.

Those become the moments we remember.

Some of the best things in life are unplanned.

So while we can talk about having expectations, praying more, and being intentional about the season we’re in, sometimes we also have to allow God to lead and simply let life happen.

Enjoy the breeze.
Appreciate the unexpected.
Find joy in the unknown.

I created a bucket list, a free guide and checklist you can reference whenever you need it, because some of us need a reminder to take a break.

But also remember this:

Sometimes you don’t need a reason to enjoy something.

Sometimes you can do something simply because you want to. Simply because it brings you joy. Simply because life is meant to be experienced, not just managed.

Here’s to joy.
Here’s to unexpected moments.
And here’s to enjoying life as it comes the way it was meant to be.
