When Your Past Starts Whispering Again

So last week we talked about in spite of healing, it’s time that we also live again. But what happens when the fragments are still popping up?

I had a season of living on edge, things being uncertain, chaos ensuing and so now I live my life chasing stability.

But life is not always certain and I have to remind myself of that. (or God actually tends to remind me and usually through a friend)

And the same is true for you. You might chase perfection, or protection from failure, financial security, or belonging, but the fight is all the same. We want to protect ourselves from what we feel we lacked in past seasons.

It’s those fragments of the past coming to haunt you in your present that may be distracting you from what you need to do: let go, take action, and receive. The reasoning may not be as conscious as when you began your healing journey, but it’s still there.

The goal is to not let those fears overtake your life.

So have a friend that can offer support or talk to God about tapping you on the shoulder when you need to take a step back.

Recognize those things that your nervous system is searching for so that you can live a life in the present with what you need instead of living in a state of fear.
